Paschalis

06.11.2014

The second comic of the "Vultures stories" is dedicated to Paschalis – the Egyptian Vulture, thanks to who was uncovered an illegal trade of endangered vulture parts to feed the black magic market that led to the complete extinction of the species from Nigeria.

The story started in Greece by tagging a young bird with satellite transmitter within the LIFE+ project “The Return of the Neophron”. This transmitter played a key role in the unraveling of the illegal scheme.

The information about that aroused interest in medias in Bulgaria, Greece, and all over the world. One of the world's most popular environmental science and conservation news sites: Mongabay.com published an article about Paschalis. In Bulgaria BBC Knowledge also devotes part of its content to the globally threatened species and the illegal trade.

Author of "Paschalis" is Yordanka Lukanova, the design and illustrations are created by Yana Kazakova.

The comic for Paschalis can be downloaded from the file below or here.
